What we collect
- What you give us: your name, state, email, phone number (optional), your question, the language you want answers in, and the path or topic you picked.
- How you found us: if you arrived from a link with tracking tags (for example, from one of our social media posts), we record the campaign name, the first page you visited, and the website that referred you. This helps us understand which lessons are useful.
- Texting permission: whether you agreed to receive text messages, and when.
- On your own device: after you sign up, your browser remembers your answers so the form can greet you next time. That stays on your device; you can clear it with your browser settings.
Please don’t put sensitive information like account numbers, ID numbers, or immigration details in the question box. We don’t need it to help you.
How we use it
- To reply to your question in the language you chose.
- To send lessons, session invitations, and program deadlines by email, and by text only if you agreed.
- To introduce you to an agent or lender, only when you ask us to.
- To understand, in total, which lessons and posts help families most.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your information, ever. We share it only:
- With an agent, lender, or housing counselor you have asked to be connected with, and only what they need to help you.
- With the service providers that run this website and send our emails, who may use it only to provide that service.
- If the law requires it.
Text messages
If you check the box to receive texts, we may text you about your question and Academy updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop at any time, or HELP for help. Agreeing to texts is never required to join.
Emails
Every Academy email lets you unsubscribe. You can also simply reply and ask us to stop.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while you remain part of the Academy. If you ask us to delete it, we will, except for anything the law requires us to keep.
Your choices and California rights
You can ask us to tell you what information we have about you, to correct it, or to delete it. California residents have these rights under state privacy law, and we extend them to everyone. We will not treat you differently for using them. Because we don’t sell or share personal information for advertising, there is nothing to opt out of, but you’re welcome to ask.
Children
The Academy is for adults planning a home purchase. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
