Too many families in our community want to own a home but don’t know where to start. They deserve guidance in their language, from someone who understands their culture, their faith, and their journey.

Hewad Wardak
Founder, Afghan Homeownership Academy

Why the Academy exists

Families hear conflicting advice, worry about interest, and can’t tell which programs are real. Most homebuying information in this country is written in English, for people who already understand the system.

The Academy fixes that with clear lessons in Pashto, Dari, and English, free sessions in mosques and community centers, and honest answers to real questions.

The Academy is

  • Free lessons in your language
  • Sources you can check yourself
  • Answers from a licensed professional
  • Sessions in mosques, centers, and homes

The Academy isn’t

  • A sales funnel you can’t leave
  • Paid by lenders or providers
  • A source of religious rulings
  • A reason to share private documents

Honest disclosures

“No sales pitch” only means something if we’re open about how this works. So here it is, all in one place.

Hewad is a licensed real estate agent

Hewad Wardak is a Realtor® licensed by the California Department of Real Estate, DRE #02360435. Brokered by Keller Williams Realty, 7898 Mission Grove Pkwy S, Suite 102, Riverside, CA 92508.

Families outside California

Hewad can represent buyers only in California. If you’re ready to buy in another state, we can introduce you to a licensed agent there through a real estate referral network. A referral fee may be paid between the two brokerages out of their commission; it’s never billed to you. You can always choose a different agent.

Nothing from lenders or providers

We don’t accept payments, gifts, or sponsorships from lenders or halal financing providers for sending families to them. When we introduce a lender, we suggest more than one, and the choice is yours.

We explain; scholars rule

Our halal financing lessons explain how products work. We don’t issue religious rulings or declare any product permissible or impermissible. Please take those questions to your imam or a scholar you trust.

Education, not advice

Lessons are general education, not legal, tax, or financial advice for your situation. Programs and rules change. Confirm details with a licensed lender, a HUD-approved housing counselor, or a tax professional.

Fair housing, always

We follow federal and California fair housing law and never steer anyone toward or away from a neighborhood because of national origin, religion, or any protected characteristic. We share objective facts; where you live is your choice.

Your information stays yours

We never sell your information, and we never ask for immigration status, Social Security numbers, or account numbers. Read exactly what we collect and why in our privacy policy.
